Lust Body Workshop
.
“Lust Body” engages in actions that desexualize and refer to sex through perception, imagination, and the individual's relationship with society. In these actions, boundaries loosen, and expand into a dance-based dialogical space.
In the workshop, we did some touch-based exercises, including practices on rejection, exploring boundaries, and shifting the power of gaze through dynamics. These practices aimed to create a space for rigorous play. Within these intensely intimate and aggressive interactions, each person's body and actions formed a society. We gained insights into how desires flowed or were absent after witnessing its civilization, conflicts, and power distribution.
Reflection from participants:
"Today, all the sensuality I experienced seemed to be guided by my rational mind, constantly exploring the boundaries of what can be given and received between different partners. Where exactly is that boundary? I felt like it was floating and flowing, while also realizing that my sense of self, was fading away throughout the entire process."
"Passivity is a form of activity, being seen is a form of seeing. So many impossible things became possible, so many things that weren't good became good. Both my body and mind cannot be separated; they both need to be cared for. Constant awareness and balance, it's all so fascinating!"
"There's a process, guidance, and protection. Influenced by the overall atmosphere, it feels unfamiliar yet familiar, and incredibly novel and enjoyable."
"It feels like touch is quite egalitarian. Sensing when someone touches me, it means that they are being touched by me. The distance restriction makes me feel safe and calm."
